Cpt.
David Johnson entered Basic Training for the United States
Air Force 26 July 1995 at Lackland AFB. Then transferred to
Sheppard AFB for Technical Training in September 1995. My
first duty station was Moody AFB, in Valdosta
GA.
From there I was deployed with the 68th Fighter
squadron (Lightning Lancers) to
Saudi Arabia, Jordan and Bahrain. Next I was assigned to Osan AB in the
Republic of South Korea for one year with the 36th
FS Fighting Fiends. There I was chosen to instruct all of
the base bomb loaders in their duties. From there I
separated from active duty from Shaw AFB SC. Then in 1999 I
entered the Tennessee Army National Guard with A107th
Aviation, 278th ACR,
Smyrna TN. In 2003 I entered into Officer Candidate
School, through the
Tennessee Military
Academy; graduated Aug
2004. I received my Commission as 2LT on 17 January 2005 and
assigned to 777th Maintenance Company as the
Detachment Commander. In 2006, I was then re-assigned as the
Company Executive Officer and returned to the main body. In
2007 I volunteered to deploy with the 730th
Quartermaster Company to Al Asad,
Iraq, where I was assigned
as the Company XO. Then upon my return in 2008, I deployed
with the 777th Maint. CO to help with
Humanitarian Relief efforts in southern
Louisiana. I was afforded the
opportunity to work with the Pre-Mobilization Training
Assistance Element, as a team leader to assist units with
the training needed for their own deployments. I was then
offered the opportunity to Command the 777th
Maintenance Company, replacing the outgoing Commander CPT.
Aaron D. Lockhart, in March 2009.
My hopes and aspirations for the unit going forward are to
continue to lead the unit in their never-ending pursuit to
provide exceptional maintenance support to all in need. As
well as promoting the unit members in their personal growth
and success in whatever they choose to do with their
military careers. I do employ an “open door” policy, but
please exhaust all chain of command avenues first. We have
an outstanding unit, and a difficult mission as our world
stands in a time of war, the pressure is always on us to
enable the killers to move forward, but we shall continue to
set the standard for all others to follow! Remember our
Creed… “the BEST serves the rest
